Rules of Conduct

You should carefully read the following rules of conduct before downloading, installing, or playing OpenSpora (OSpora). By downloading, installing or playing OpenSpora, you agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement. If you do not agree to all of the following terms, do not download, install or run OpenSpora.

By accepting this agreement, you acknowledge that you agree, without modifications, to the terms, conditions, policies and notices contained herein and will abide by them. In the event you fail to comply with any of these provisions, The OpenSpora Project reserves the right to deactivate your account. Deactivation may result in the permanent loss of all in-game items or stats, control of guilds founded by your account, the loss of control of planets owned by guilds which were founded by your account and loss of in-game currency (credits). By accepting this agreement, you also acknowledge that you are at least 18 years old. You further agree that this agreement will apply to anyone that you allow to use your OpenSpora account, and that you are personally responsible for the consequences (including termination of your account) that may result if any such person violates any provision contained herein.

Rules of User Conduct

To play OpenSpora, you must download the OpenSpora client, which includes software required for the game and use it to access your account. Neither this Agreement nor your account entitles you to any subsequent releases of OpenSpora, nor to any expansion packs or similar ancillary products.

Upon registration, you must select a password. You may not disclose your password to any third party. We never ask you for your password by telephone, email, or through any in-game or out-of-game communications and you should not disclose it this way if someone asks you to do so. Although we may offer a feature that allows you to "save" or "remember" your password on your hard drive, please note that third parties may be able to access your computer and thus your account.

You understand that you play OpenSpora at your own risk. OpenSpora may contain errors, "bugs" and/or other problems which may result in system failure or failure in the use of OpenSpora. For purposes of this Agreement, playing OpenSpora shall mean interacting in any way with OpenSpora-related content including, but not limited to, using the OpenSpora software and interacting on the OpenSpora Web Site (http://www.ospora.com).

OpenSpora is provided to you strictly on an "as is", "as available" basis. The OpenSpora Project disclaims all warranties, liabilities and obligations of any kind to you.

Any accumulated credits, experience points, levels, medals, titles, equipment, commodities, and other such value or status indicators may be reset at any time.

You will not make personal threats against other players, or commit any acts of a threatening or harassing nature.

You will not use any sexually explicit, abusive, or offensive language, nor may you link to any such content via any of OpenSpora's communication features. This includes any form of communication that is derogatory or obscene, including, but not restricted to, insulting or harassing comments based on gender, race, ethnicity, or religion. This also includes your character name, guild name and guild pages.

You will not impersonate or pose as an employee or contributor of The OpenSpora Project or as an employee of The OpenSpora Project's affiliates.

You will not use the OpenSpora service or website to market, promote or solicit interest in or orders for any product or service, including but not limited to the dissemination of advertising materials, multi-level marketing and/or chain mail.

You will not violate any local, state, national, or international law or regulation.

You will not attempt to play OpenSpora using a hacked, modified, or otherwise alterered OpenSpora client. We will provide a test server which you can use to test modifications before submitting them to The OpenSpora Project.

You will not attempt to hack, modify or otherwise alter any part of the OpenSpora server, database or website.

You will not use any part of the OpenSpora service or website to arrange for the transfer of pirated software or other unlawful products.

You will not organize, form, or be a member of any guild or group within OpenSpora that is based on, promulgates, or otherwise promotes any racist, sexist, anti-religious, anti-ethnic, anti-gay, or other hate-mongering philosophy.

You will not give false information or intentionally conceal any information that is required to register a OpenSpora account.

You will not post, communicate, or transmit any person's real life personal information via the OpenSpora service or website without the prior authorization of such person.

You will not use the OpenSpora service or website to upload or transmit any copyrighted content that you do not own all rights to, unless you have the express written permission of the relevant author(s) or copyright holder(s).

You will not attempt to intercept, interfere with, hack into, or decipher any transmissions to or from the OpenSpora game or web servers.

You will not exploit any bug in OpenSpora, nor will you communicate or distribute any such bugs for the use of or exploitation by any other players. You will promptly report any such bugs to The OpenSpora Project by using our bug

tracking tool (http://www.ospora.com/resources/bug_filing_guide/). Be sure to tick the "bug/loophole/security" checkbox. Note that we may offer (but do not guarantee) an in-game reward for reported bugs that can be exploited, as long as they are reported immediately and not used to gain an advantage.

You will not create, provide or otherwise use any server emulator or other site where OpenSpora may be played. You will not post or distribute any utilities, emulators or other software tools related to OpenSpora without the prior written permission of The OpenSpora Project.

You will not initiate or participate in any acts that are detrimental to OpenSpora or The OpenSpora Project's ability to regulate, monitor, maintain, service or update OpenSpora.

You will not initiate or participate in any acts that negatively affect the gaming experience for any other player.

You will not transmit or upload any viruses or programs that are detrimental to the OpenSpora service or its player community.

You acknowledge that The OpenSpora Project has no obligation to monitor or supervise OpenSpora's communication features, and that The OpenSpora Project expressly disclaims any obligation to monitor or supervise them, but also expressly reserves the right to monitor or supervise them, in The OpenSpora Project's sole discretion. You further acknowledge that The OpenSpora Project does not control the content of any postings in OpenSpora's communication features and does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of anything posted within them. You understand that by using OpenSpora's communication features, you may be exposed to content that is offensive, indecent or objectionable. Under no circumstances will The OpenSpora Project be liable for any errors or omissions in any postings or for any loss or damages of any kind incurred as a result of any information posted or otherwise contained within OpenSpora's communication features. You acknowledge that OpenSpora's communication features enable forums for public and not private communications.

The OpenSpora Web Site pages, forum and Guild sections or subdomains may contain links to external sites. You understand and acknowledge that The OpenSpora Project is not responsible for the content of external links even if their content contains OpenSpora graphics or text, or graphics or text from the OpenSpora website.

The OpenSpora Project may occasionally find it necessary to make changes to, or reset portions of, the OpenSpora universe. this may include, but is not limited to: changes in character structure, changes in ship or equipment statistics, or a character reset resulting in any amount of data loss.

These rules may be changed, and new rules may be added, at any time. You agree to check the OpenSpora web site from time to time to review any rule changes that The OpenSpora Project may have made to this agreement.

By downloading, installing and running (or playing OpenSpora) you acknowledge that you agree to these rules and will abide by them.

You further agree that these rules will apply to anyone that you allow to use your OpenSpora account, and that you are personally responsible for the consequences (including termination of your account) that may result if any such person breaks these rules.
