Diaspora Trade Calculator
When Diaspora first began, most people calculated trade routes in their head, or used pen and paper. As the game grew, it became more and more common to share trade routes and prices, and players worked on more advanced (automated) ways of discovering the route that would bring maximum profit.
Am0 of AmoebaSoft (and current developer of Exodus) produced an application which exceeded the capabilities of most spreadsheets and tools that the community had produced so far. The Diaspora Multitool had stored information about the Diaspora ships, speeds and map, which allowed it to calculate profits compared to distance travelled and the time spent doing so and took other factors (such as ping) into account.
As we will be using a different map and a different set of ships and trade commodities in OSpora, the Diaspora Multitool will not be of specific value. However, it is a undervalued application and is a perfect example if anyone wishes to launch a similar project for OSpora.
