3 StarsExtremely addictive despite the lack of high frame rates and eye-candy that is prevalent in most online games. Diaspora requires that you take risks to upgrade your ship class and player killing runs rampant throughout the game. Buy a ship, launch, and hope you can improve yourself before someone else leaves you as wreckage in space.There are some server supported bots in the game. They provide the basis for gaining experience points. However, there are far more players at this point than bots. You can gain experience killing other players as well. For some, this is all that they do.
Expect to get sucked into Guild politics if you should join a guild. It's very easy to get all of your game time used by politics instead of actual gaming.
Overall, the game consists of running as much trade as possible to upgrade yourself or killing other players to do the same.
