I was first introduced to this when a friend of mine mentioned it (Thanx Ice) As soon as I had downloaded the game and started playing it brought back a wave of nostalgia this game is very similar to elite buy a ship then go out seeking your fortune, there are currently 6 different classes of ships each with 8 different ships per calss although there are soon to be 7 possibly 8 classes of ship.

The game itself is very simple take your ship from one planet to another tradeing, trying not to be killed or trying to kill. As well as other players there are computer controlled ships, some good like the militia others evil like the Rin depending on which one you kill depends on which status you get through the game kill rin and you will become more and more Gen (Good) kill other players or the militia and you will become velic (Evil).

There are 3 main zones to the game the Gen Zone (A safe haven for traders since you cannot be shot in that area) The Neutral zone (The main zone where most players spend their time) and The Velic Zone kill too many gen characters and this is where you end up you can still go to the neutral zone but the game will not allow you to go back into the Gen zone.

As well as all this you can create your own guilds which you can modify in many ways even giving your guild a Kill reward for killing other guilds for example the Rin. There are a 3 planets in the Gen zone and 3 in the Velic zone these are mainly players home planets, the places you go to buy new ships upgrade your current ship, or check your in-game mail. The neutral zone has 9 planets currently but there are plans to make the neutral zone bigger also, every planet in the neutral zone has a satalitte in orbit around the planet these can be bought by a guild and upgraded to make them stronger while they are the property of your guild you will earn money for it in the form of taxes also the satalitte has a guild members only section which is basically a meeting place for the guild. Sats are not indestuctable though and can change owners very often it all depends on the owners if they don't maintain it it will be destroyed.

Overall the game is very enjoyable and very addictive, the sounds and graphics are all stored on your own PC hence they are able to be changed if you don't like a background, change it. There is also a new site being created by one of the players of the game to allow people to download his work (Which is very good, well done Spacer) which changes the graphics in the game. Not much else can be said about the game except that is it a great way to pass the time, if you loved Elite or any of it's clones then you will love Diaspora.

See you in Space
